Hughes: Commitment

Fulham defender Aaron Hughes has insisted he is happy at the club following speculation about his future.

The player has assured fans of his commitment to the Cottagers, with whom he signed a two-and-a-half year deal last summer.

And Hughes has vowed he will be giving 100 per cent to the team, who face rock-bottom Derby on Saturday in a must-win game in their battle against the drop.

The defender, who is currently on international duty with Northern Ireland, told the club's official website on Wednesday: "I signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Fulham last summer and my commitment to the club remains as strong as ever, my family is settled and I am happy here.

"Whilst I am disappointed by our current league position, I am enjoying being at Fulham and hope to be playing Premier League football at Craven Cottage next season.

Fighting together

"We are fighting together as a team to secure the club's future and whilst my team-mates are well aware of my commitment to the club, I felt it necessary to reassure the fans following today's inaccurate speculation surrounding my future.

"It's vital that the players, staff and supporters stick together at this stage of the season.

"We have a massive game against Derby on Saturday and I can guarantee that I will be giving 100 per cent to the club's cause, as I always do."
