Dunn: Set for talks
Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has revealed the club plan to tie David Dunn down to a new contract.
Dunn has made 44 Premier League appearances for Rovers since returning to the club from Birmingham City in January 2007.
The 28-year-old midfielder's current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2010, and Blackburn intend to hold talks over agreeing fresh terms after the summer transfer deadline has passed.
"David wants to stay with us, and we want to keep him," Williams said in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"He's had a short discussion with the manager, and when the transfer window closes, I'm sure we'll sort it out.
"But it's not an urgent matter. David's still got the best part of two years to run on his contract."
Manager Paul Ince added: "He has done ever so well. From day one he has been a leader.
"Dunny is a local lad and everyone looks up to him. I gave him the responsibility of being vice-captain and he has taken it on board.
"If any player performs well, whether it is Dunny or anyone else, then we will look to see if we can extend their contract.
"But first and foremost we need to get the next couple of games out of the way."
