Senderos: Set for Milan
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed it is undecided if Philippe Senderos will seal a permanent move to AC Milan at the end of the campaign.
Senderos is on the verge of completing a season-long loan to the Italian giants after undergoing a medical on Tuesday, with reports claiming Milan will have an option to buy the defender next summer.
The unexpected signing of defender Mikael Silvestre from Manchester United last week paved the way for the 23-year-old's departure from Emirates Stadium.
Wenger has admitted Senderos would have struggled for first-team football this term, and refused to rule out the possibility of the centre-back securing a permanent switch to the San Siro.
"Senderos has gone to Milan today and is not available anymore," the Frenchman said on Sky Sports News. "He will go to Milan. He will complete a medical today.
"The thinking [behind the move] is that at the moment he doesn't get the games here and that he can play somewhere and remain in a top level club.
"Without losing him we want him to play. It (whether the transfer will become permanent) is not decided yet.
"For us, we have Johan Djourou, Kolo Toure, Senderos, Alexandre Song, William Gallas and Mikael Silvestre, who can play centre-back, so there is congestion there."
Meanwhile, midfielder Cesc Fabregas looks set to feature in his first game of the season after Wenger confirmed the Spaniard had sufficiently recovered from a hamstring injury in time for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League qualifier against FC Twente.
Wenger added: "He (Fabregas) is in the squad, I cannot tell you whether he will start or not. He is ready to start."
