Evans: Staying at City

Ched Evans says he was unaware of any interest from Cardiff City earlier in the summer, but is not planning to leave Manchester City on loan.

The young striker impressed on loan at Norwich City last season and was tipped for another temporary move to build up his experience.

Cardiff City were among a string of Championship clubs to have been linked with a bid for the promising Wales Under 21 international.

However, after making two appearances for City's first team this season, Evans is not looking for a loan move in the near future.

Staying at City

"There was a lot of talk of me going out on loan somewhere," said Evans in the South Wales Echo.

"But I don't think there was ever a stage where I was actually going out over the summer and I didn't hear anything about Cardiff's interest.

"I know there were a few clubs possibly interested in me, but nothing reached the stage where it got back to me or the manager as far as I was aware.

"And as far I was concerned it was always going to be a case of me staying at Manchester City, certainly as far as this loan period is concerned."
