Kovac: Wanted by Milan

AC Milan have lined up a move for Radoslav Kovac if they are unable to sign Branislav Ivanovic from Chelsea.

Ivanovic is a target for the Italian giants, but Chelsea are reluctant to part with the Serbian, who only moved to Stamford Bridge in January.

The defender's agent has claimed Ivanovic is keen to move to the San Siro, but Milan are weighing up alternative options.

Spartak Moscow stopper Kovac has emerged as a back-up plan for Carlo Ancelotti's side after impressing in recent seasons.

The Czech Republic international's representative Pavel Zika has confirmed there has been interest, but acknowledged any transfer hinges on Milan's efforts to sign Ivanovic.

Good relationship

"Discussions with Milan are in an early stage at the moment," Zika told deniksport.cz.

"I don't want to anticipate anything, but it is true that Milan are looking for a stopper and have given an indication for Radek.

"The transfer fee is in the region of €5-6million.

"It will depend on if this move (Ivanovic) will happen. The clubs are in a good relationship, so they could reach an agreement soon."
